Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking an Outpatient Registered Nurse in the Thoracic Surgery department in Cleveland, OH. The role focuses on patient assessment, care coordination and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in an ambulatory setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN) required.
• One year of recent RN experience required.
• Current state licensure as an RN.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross required.

• Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education for patients and families.
• Cover other nursing roles within the department.
• Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures as needed.

About This Role

The Thoracic Surgery Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) delivers comprehensive nursing care and coordinates services for thoracic surgery patients in the outpatient setting. This role is ideal for a dedicated nurse who excels in patient assessment, care coordination, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

What You'll Do

• Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
• Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage and establish care plans.

Requirements

Education

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN program) required

Experience

• One year of recent experience as an RN required
• Will consider LPN, Medical Assistant, or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience in substitution of RN experience for current Cleveland Clinic caregivers

Licenses & Certifications

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross required
