Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic is seeking an experienced RN for ambulatory primary care at the Main Campus in Cleveland, OH. You will support caregivers in delivering high-quality patient care from introduction to discharge while enhancing the patient experience.

This part-time daytime role requires an RN license, BLS, and at least one year of relevant experience in ambulatory settings. Travel within the region may be required to support clinics and procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN) is required.
• One year of recent RN/LPN or equivalent clinical experience if already a Cleveland Clinic caregiver in ambulatory settings is required.
• Current state RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• ACLS certification through AHA is preferred within six months for areas with moderate sedation and/or cardiac stress testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
• Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage, and establish care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Initiate CPR and other emergency measures as needed.
• Notify physician or LIP of abnormal findings.
• Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and specialized patient care equipment.
• Develop and document patient health education and provide it to patients and families.
• Cover other nursing roles within the department.
• Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures as needed.

About This Role

What You'll Do

• Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
• Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage, and establish care plans.
• Administer medication and treatments.

• Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
• Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures, and specialized patient care equipment.
• Develop, evaluate, adapt, and document health education and provide it to patients and families.
• Cover other nursing roles within the department.
• Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed.

Requirements

• Education:
  Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program) required
• Experience:
  One year of recent experience as an RN OR LPN, Medical Assistant, and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience if a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting
• Licenses & Certifications:
  Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification within six months of hire preferred for areas performing moderate sedation procedures and/or cardiac stress testing
