Job summary

Novant Health Pediatric Concord is seeking a part-time Ambulatory Registered Nurse to join our pediatric clinic team. You will provide patient care, record vital signs, and support providers in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, active RN license in North Carolina, and relevant experience. ACLS, PALS, BAT and DOT are preferred. Schedule follows a rotating Week A/Week B pattern.

Qualifications

• RN license active in the appropriate state.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• One year of relevant experience preferred.
• ACLS, PALS, BAT and DOT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and document vital signs, histories, and chief complaints.
• Assist providers and support smooth clinic operations across multiple providers.
• Manage EMR in-basket tasks including patient messages, refill requests, labs, and communications.
• Perform laboratory duties, specimen collection, processing, and vaccine administration per protocols.
• Provide telephone and in-person triage, prioritizing patient needs and offering appropriate care guidance.

Work Schedule: Week A: Mon, Tues & Wed 7:30am - 5:00pm; Week B: Wed, Thurs & Fri 7:30am - 5:00pm

The Registered Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health or supports a peaceful death. The Registered Nurse utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the patient in navigating their health journey. The Registered Nurse accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current policies and procedures.

What You'll Do

• Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints, and prepare patients for provider visits.
• Support providers by assisting with patient care, floating between providers as needed, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.
• Manage EMR in-basket tasks, including patient messages, prescription refill requests, lab results, and provider communications.
• Perform laboratory duties, including specimen collection, processing, and documentation, and administer vaccines according to established protocols.
• Utilize clinical assessment skills to perform telephone and in-person triage, prioritize patient needs, and provide appropriate guidance and care recommendations

What We’re Looking For

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Current RN license in appropriate state, required.
  • ACLS, PALS, BAT and DOT, preferred.
