Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Willoughby Hills family health center is seeking a qualified nurse to provide ambulatory care, perform assessments, triage, and administer medications. You will participate in emergency procedures and coordinate care with physicians in a busy environment.

The role requires active RN licensure and BLS certification with at least one year of RN experience; internal Cleveland Clinic transfers may substitute for some RN experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• One year of recent RN experience; substitution allowed for LPN/MA in specific internal transfers.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
• Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, triage by phone and plan care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Initiate CPR and other emergency measures when needed.
• Notify physician or LIP of abnormal findings.
• Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and patient-care equipment.
• Develop and document health education for patients and families.
• Cover other nursing roles within the department as needed.
• Travel within the region to support physician clinics and procedures.

Willoughby Hills FHC is dedicated to providing complete, state-of-the-art diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for children and adults affected by diseases such as arthritis, bursitis, lupus, chronic fatigue syndrome and vasculitis.

A caregiver in this position works 8:00am to 4:30pm. Hours may vary based on needs and may include evenings and weekends as needed.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
• Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage and establish care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments.
• Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
• Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
• Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures and specialized patient care equipment.
• Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families.
• Cover other nursing roles within the department.
• Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross.
• One year of recent experience as an RN.
• Will consider LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience in substitution of RN experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
• May requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
• Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
• Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $33.50

Maximum hourly: $53.40
