Our Pediatric Rheumatology practice located in Albany, NY is seeking an RN to join the team at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center. We offer a friendly, team-oriented work environment focused on efficient, compassionate patient care.

Job Details:

• Position: Full-Time Registered Nurse
• Department: Pediatric Rheumatology
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• No weekends or holidays

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the practice physician or advanced practice provider (APP) and the Nurse Manager or Nurse Supervisor, the RN provides direct patient care, triage (in-person and telephonic), assessments, and contributes to care planning and evaluation. Must work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities include:

• Accurately record patient vital signs and report abnormalities
• Obtain and document comprehensive patient histories and physical assessments
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by physicians or APPs
• Participate in clinic procedures and document outcomes in EHR
• Review and triage test results, patient requests, and pharmacy renewals; facilitate callbacks
• Utilize resources to meet patient outcomes and contribute to quality metrics
• Delegate tasks appropriately to LPNs and MAs
• Adhere to regulatory and internal compliance policies
• Orient and educate new staff members
• Complete ongoing education to stay current in the specialty
• Provide patient education on health and wellness topics

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree from an accredited RN program
• Current NYS RN licensure
• Current CPR certification
• Specialty certification in ambulatory care preferred
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Proficiency with computer software and electronic health records
• Ability to administer medications via all routes and calculate doses
