Job summary

University of Mississippi Medical Center seeks an RN for the Ambulatory Mirror Lake OBGYN clinic. The nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care in a busy obstetrics/gynecology practice while coordinating admissions, scheduling and records.

Focus includes patient counseling and serving as a liaison with case managers and home health teams. Responsibilities include documentation in the EMR, coordinating care across settings, mentoring staff, and ensuring privacy and safety to support

Qualifications

• Valid RN license required.
• Knowledge of clinical nursing care procedures and protocols.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by performing problem-focused assessments, planning, implementing and evaluating treatments and interventions for patients in the physicians practice.
• Accurately documents care in the patient’s electronic medical record.
• Coordinates delivery of care and resources within the practice; refers patients to needed services.
• Fosters interdisciplinary collaboration to improve quality of care, patient satisfaction and outcomes.
• Communicates with patients, families, and health professionals about care and the ambulatory nurse’s role.
• Mentions confidentiality, privacy and ethical parameters in line with policies.
