Job Summary

Join Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital to provide exceptional care in the Ambulatory Cancer Center. The RN on the Infusion Center team assists caregivers with accessing ports, giving injections, starting IVs, performing lab draws, and delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients, families, and visitors. The role includes telephone triage, medication administration, emergency response, and education. Nurses cover other nursing roles within the department and may travel regionally to support physician clinics and surgical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
  • Assist caregivers in delivering care through accessing ports, giving injections, starting IVs, and performing lab draws.
  • Interact directly with patients, families, and visitors, enhancing their experience and providing education.
  • Perform telephone triage and establish care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments.
  • Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
  • Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
  • Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures, and specialized patient care equipment.
  • Develop, evaluate, adapt, and document health education for patients and families.
  • Cover other nursing roles within the department.
  • Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN).
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross.
  • One year of recent experience as an RN.
  • For nurses working in medical oncology, radiation oncology, cancer center or cancer clinic and/or administering chemotherapy: obtain a cancer‑specific certification or demonstrate ongoing qualifying education within the Accreditation Cycle timeframe.
  • Will consider LPN, Medical Assistant, or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience in substitution of RN experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role within the same specialty area.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Infusion experience.
Physical Requirements

Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, and corrected hearing and vision to normal range. May require exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.

Work Conditions

Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, or negligible weight constantly. Job requires walking or standing significantly, or pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls.

Personal Protective Equipment

Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
