Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM seeks an RN to join our Night shift team. You will collaborate with AIMS triage and cross-cover physicians, collect and report data from assessments, and support patient placement and hospital resource access.

You will optimize patient flow by performing assessments, obtaining information, starting treatments per protocols, and guiding patients to appropriate physicians for admission or higher level care. BLS required and ADN/BSN track.

Qualifications

  • Minimum ADN with expectation of BSN completion within 5 years of hire; BSN preferred
  • Experience: Three years recent telemetry and/or one year Adult Critical Care nursing experience preferred
  • BLS required

Responsibilities

  • Collects, reviews, organizes and reports data from assessments and other sources to facilitate patient placement and optimize access to hospital resources.
  • Optimizes physicians workloads and patient flow by performing patient assessments, obtaining data and tests, starting treatment per Nurse Initiated Protocols, and assigning patients for admission or further work-up.
  • Answers Cross Cover pager and addresses patient concerns, identifying conditions that may deteriorate and intervenes appropriately for optimal outcomes.
  • Facilitates safe transitions within care settings and across levels of care, including ED admissions and transfers to higher levels.

Summary:
  • In a collaborative partnership with Adult Internal Medicine (AIMS) Triage and Cross Cover physicians, collects, reviews, organizes and reports data from assessments and a variety of other sources to the physician to facilitate appropriate placement of patients and optimize access to hospital resources.
  • Optimizes physicians workloads and patient flow by performing patient assessments, accumulating pertinent data, obtaining additional information and tests and starting treatment per Nurse Initiated Protocols, and assigning patients to appropriate physicians for hospital admission or further diagnostic work-up.
  • Answers Cross Cover pager and addresses patient concerns, identifying conditions that may result in rapid hemodynamic deterioration or life-threatening instability and intervenes appropriately for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Facilitates patients safe transition within care settings and across levels of care, including hospital admissions from Emergency Department and transfers to higher level of care.
