Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque seeks an experienced RN to collaborate with AIMS triage and cross‑cover physicians, collecting and organizing data to optimize patient placement and access to hospital resources.

The role emphasizes telemetry/critical care experience, ADN with BSN progression within five years, and a BSN preferred; BLS is required. Night shift availability supports hospital operations and patient care continuity.

Qualifications

• ADN required with expectation to complete BSN within 5 years, BSN preferred.
• 3 years recent telemetry and/or 1 year Adult Critical Care nursing experience preferred.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with AIMS triage and Cross Cover physicians to collect, organize and report data for patient placement and resource optimization.
• Perform patient assessments, gather data and initiate treatments per Nurse Initiated Protocols to manage workflow and admissions.
• Respond to Cross Cover pager, address patient concerns and identify conditions requiring rapid intervention.
• Facilitate safe transitions across care settings including ED admissions and transfers.

Summary

• In a collaborative partnership with Adult Internal Medicine (AIMS) Triage and Cross Cover physicians, collects, reviews, organizes and reports data from assessments and a variety of other sources to the physician to facilitate appropriate placement of patients and optimize access to hospital resources.
• Optimizes physicians workloads and patient flow by performing patient assessments, accumulating pertinent data, obtaining additional information and tests and starting treatment per Nurse Initiated Protocols, and assigning patients to appropriate physicians for hospital admission or further diagnostic work-up.
• Answers Cross Cover pager and addresses patient concerns, identifying conditions that may result in rapid hemodynamic deterioration or life-threatening instability and intervenes appropriately for optimal patient outcomes.
• Facilitates patients safe transition within care settings and across levels of care, including hospital admissions from Emergency Department and transfers to higher level of care.
