Job Summary

The RN Clinical Nurse I provides professional nursing care through skillful assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with facility or department policies, procedures, and protocols under the supervision of the nursing leader. Assists in maintaining a safe work environment and performs all related job responsibilities safely. Maintains clinical and professional competency appropriate to the patient population served.

Essential Functions
  1. Collects data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or the situation and analyzes assessment data to determine diagnoses, problems, or issues.
  2. Identifies expected outcomes for individualized care plans.
  3. Develops strategies to achieve measurable outcomes.
  4. Implements the care plan, coordinates care delivery, and promotes health and safety.
  5. Delegates care elements to appropriate healthcare workers, complying with legal and policy guidelines.
  6. Evaluates progress toward goals and outcomes.
  7. Practices in a manner consistent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles.
  8. Communicates effectively across all practice areas.
  9. Collaborates with patients and stakeholders in nursing practice.
  10. Leads within the practice setting and the profession.
  11. Integrates evidence and research into practice.

Physical Requirements

Requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must lift and support up to 35 pounds. Good English communication skills, intact senses, finger dexterity, critical thinking, and quick response ability are essential. Physical abilities testing is required.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred. Current BLS certification required. Valid RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment or residence, complying with licensure requirements for NLC states if applicable.
