Summary

The RN Advisor uses the nursing process to effectively plan and manage patient care by providing individualized, quality nursing care to cancer patients and family members over the phone, in accordance with established Cancer Center guidelines, nursing care standards, and Moffitt Clinic policies. Using the concepts of Duffy's Quality Caring Model, the RN Advisor ensures calls are answered promptly and accurately while assessing patient’s urgent signs and symptoms. The RN Advisor provides nursing interventions, acts as a liaison with the clinical team, and documents assessment and interventions in the EHR. Incumbent will be utilized in different units within the MAC (Moffitt Ambulatory Center) to ensure quality patient care and appropriate staffing needs are met.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls using Moffitt Promise Guidelines (AIDET), the quality caring factors, and the nursing process to assess the patient’s issue, plan and properly evaluate the care.
• Complete, accurate and timely nursing documentation.
• Exercise clinical judgment and decision making. Recognize emergencies and take appropriate action.
• Identify, document and provide accurate and appropriate patient education.
• Participate in evidence‑based improvement activities related to area of practice. Participate in professional development based on the nursing professional standards, regulatory requirements and job expectations.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in Oncology as a Registered Nurse.
• OCN or ACON certification.
• Call center experience.
• BSN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with at least two years of relevant experience OR ASN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with 2 years of relevant experience.
• FL RN License.
• BLS Certification.
• No NPDB reports or successful appeal to have name removed.

Salary Range

$36.08 - $54.13 per hour. Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job‑related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
