Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a RN Advisor (Triage RN) to provide telephone-based nursing care for cancer patients, using established guidelines and the EHR to document and coordinate care. The role focuses on triage, education, and clinical assessment for GI oncology patients in a busy program with advanced treatments.

Requirements include 2+ years of Oncology nursing experience, US RN license (Florida preferred), and BLS.

Qualifications

• BSN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with at least one year of relevant experience.
• ASN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with 1 year of relevant experience.
• FL RN License.
• BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls using Moffitt Promise Guidelines (AIDET), the quality caring factors, and the nursing process to assess the patient's issue, plan and properly evaluate the care.
• Complete, accurate and timely nursing documentation.
• Exercise clinical judgment and decision making.
• Recognizes emergencies and takes appropriate action.
• Identify, document and provide accurate and appropriate patient education.
• Participate in evidence based improvement activities related to area of practice.
• Participate in professional development based on the nursing professional standards, regulatory requirements and job expectations.

Summary The RN Advisor uses the nursing process to effectively plan and manage patient care by providing individualized, quality nursing care to cancer patients and family members over the phone, in accordance with established Cancer Center guidelines, nursing care standards, and Moffitt Clinic policies. Using the concepts of Duffy's Quality Caring Model, ensures calls are answered promptly and accurately while assessing patient's urgent signs and symptoms. Provides nursing interventions and acts as a liaison with the clinical team. Documents assessment and interventions in the EHR.

Gastrointestinal cancers are among the most challenging cancers to treat. At Moffitt Cancer Center, our Gastrointestinal Oncology Program focuses exclusively on these unique malignancies, allowing patients to receive care from some of the foremost experts in the field. Through Moffitt's Gastrointestinal Oncology Program, patients not only have access to surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy, but also to innovative options, such as cryoablation, biological therapies and even supportive care services to help improve their quality of life. To provide the broadest possible spectrum of treatment options, our oncologists and dedicated research specialists are continually investigating advancements in:

• Endoscopic, laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery
• Novel chemotherapy drugs
• Interventional radiology
• Functional imaging
• Molecular therapies and immunotherapies
• Pain management
• Risk assessment, screening, early detection and prevention methods

Our Gastrointestinal (GI) Oncology Clinic cares for an average of 100-130 patients on a daily basis. We are currently looking for an RN Advisor (Triage RN) to join our team.

Position Highlights

The RN Advisor uses the nursing process to effectively plan and manage patient care by providing individualized, quality nursing care to cancer patients and family members over the phone, in accordance with established Cancer Center guidelines, nursing care standards, and Moffitt Clinic policies. The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in Oncology as a Registered Nurse OCN or ACON certification
• Call center experience

Salary Range

$35.91 - $54.55 Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
