Job summary

Geisinger Behavioral Health Center Danville, PA is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our admissions team. The role focuses on facilitating smooth admissions, coordinating with physicians and staff, and ensuring patient safety.

Full-time dayshift 11am–11pm with every-other weekend and rotating holidays. The RN will perform assessments, review documentation, verify insurance, and support patients and families through the admission process.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing required.
• Minimum of one year of clinical or observational experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review medical documentation for admissions and obtain admission orders.
• Facilitate emergency transfers for patients beyond the facility's capabilities.
• Review referrals and assess medical/behavioral acuity within timeframes.
• Respond to inquiries about the facility and provide recommendations.
• Conduct assessments to determine level of care and collaborate with staff.
