Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a social services field is required (if state allows).
• Master's degree in social services or RN preferred.
• 1+ years in mental/behavioral health in a clinical or observational role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries about the facility within policy timeframes.
• Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Perform benefit eligibility to ensure active patient benefits at admission.
• Collaborate with medical and psychiatric personnel to guide referrals.
• Coordinate admission and transfers between referral sources and levels of care.
• Maintain knowledge of milieu management and safety protocols.
• Communicate projected admissions to internal teams promptly.
• Ensure clinical information is received prior to admission when possible.
• Schedule pre-admission assessments and communicate disposition to patients/families.
• Prepare and maintain medical record documentation for payor authorization.
• Complete initial pre-authorization for treatment/admission before admission.
• Admit the patient in the registration system and complete forms.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, professional attitude toward customers; resolve complaints.
• Coordinate care for patients not admitted and arrange follow-up referrals.
• Maintain urgency around patient safety and provide excellent service.
• Conduct safety checks and follow supervision guidelines as needed.
