Job summary

VitaCare Living - Hayward I & II in Hayward, WI seeks an RN Administrator to run the community with CEO‑level accountability for resident care, the team, operations and regulatory standing. You will lead a diverse staff, set clinical standards, and partner with physicians, pharmacies, and managed care teams to ensure high‑quality care.

You’ll oversee admissions, staff development, and daily operations while maintaining a culture of dignity, purpose, and exceptional resident experience.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license valid in Wisconsin.
• Experience in assisted living, CBRF, memory care, or long‑term care with supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Must complete the DHS‑approved Assisted Living Administrator course to meet Wisconsin CBRF administrator qualifications.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and hold a team accountable.
• Excellent communicator with residents, families, providers, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Set the clinical standard for the community and ensure safe, respectful, individualized care.
• Lead assessments, ISP development and updates, psychotropic reviews, wound checks, and condition updates.
• Oversee medication management, including cart audits, MAR review, orders, and delegation of staff.
• Serve as clinical point of contact for physicians, pharmacy, hospice, and managed care teams.
• Lead the admissions process from pre‑assessment through move‑in and transition.
• Maintain compliance with Wisconsin DHS requirements and VitaCare policies.

Responsibilities

Resident Care & Clinical Leadership

• Set the clinical standard for the community and make sure every resident gets safe, respectful, individualized care
• Lead assessments, ISP development and updates, psychotropic reviews, wound checks, and follow‑up on changes in condition
• Oversee medication management, including cart audits, MAR review, order reconciliation, and delegation and competency of staff who pass medications
• Serve as the clinical point of contact for physicians, pharmacy, hospice, and managed care teams such as Inclusa and My Choice Wisconsin
• Lead the admission process from pre‑assessment through move‑in and transition, so every new resident starts off well

People & Culture

• Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop a high‑performing team, and keep the community fully staffed
• Build schedules, handle call‑ins and open shifts, and hold the team accountable with coaching, education, and clear expectations
• Lead monthly staff meetings and make sure required training is done on time and done well
• Create a workplace people are proud of, where teamwork, respect, and growth are the norm
• Operations & Business Stewardship
• Run the day‑to‑day business of the community, including food and supply ordering, facility upkeep, cleanliness, and required logs
• Manage resources responsibly and look for ways to work smarter
• Keep state books, resident records, and employee records current and survey‑ready at all times

Safety & Regulatory Excellence

• Maintain compliance with Wisconsin DHS requirements and VitaCare policies
• Lead incident investigation, documentation, and reporting, and act right away on any concern about resident safety or rights
• Keep emergency preparedness current, including fire, tornado, elopement, and evacuation drills and Point of Rescue information
• Prepare for surveys, respond to findings, and drive corrective actions to completion

Residents, Families & Community

• Be the visible, trusted leader for residents and families. Lead Resident Council, follow up on concerns, and communicate proactively
• Represent VitaCare Living - Hayward in the wider community and help build the reputation that brings new residents to us

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license valid in Wisconsin
• Experience in assisted living, CBRF, memory care, or long‑term care, with supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred
• Associate degree or higher in nursing, or at least two years of direct health care experience and the ability to complete the DHS‑approved Assisted Living Administrator course, meeting Wisconsin CBRF administrator qualifications under DHS 83.15 (must be at least 21 years of age)
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and hold a team accountable
• Strong clinical judgment in assessment, medication oversight, and change‑in‑condition management
• Organized and deadline‑driven, able to run many priorities at once without dropping details
• Excellent communicator with residents, families, providers, and staff
• A self‑starter who acts like an owner
