Job summary

Join Cleveland Clinic Euclid Hospital as an RN on the Acute Medical Emergency Team (AMET). You will assist caregivers in delivering exceptional care, interacting directly with patients, families and visitors, and supporting care coordination in a high‑acuity environment.

The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, active RN licensure, and BLS/ACLS with NIH stroke scale certification. Night shifts run 7:00pm–7:30am with every other weekend and holiday rotations.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH stroke scale certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross prior to hire.
• NIH stroke scale certification.
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Emergency Department and/or critical care experience.

Physical Requirements

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium work: exerts 20‑50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10‑25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Personal protective equipment: follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
