Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment, delivering coordinated, safe, and compassionate patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, including administering medications and protocols as appropriate.
2. Advocate for ethical, patient-centered care and partner in care planning with interdisciplinary teams.
3. Foster a learning environment for patients, families, and nursing staff.
4. Align practice with safety and quality, identifying and correcting problems and integrating evidence-based practice into patient care.
5. Engage in continuous professional development and promote a culture of inquiry.
6. Demonstrate leadership as change agents, using collaborative leadership skills to influence and coordinate care.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse licensed in the state of employment.
• BSN preferred; any previously agreed upon effective date for obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Nursing will remain in effect.
• Any contract with specific time frames for obtaining a bachelor's degree in nursing will be superseded by the above point.
• Specialty certification preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS unit dependent.
• At least one year of experience, or less than one year if transitioned from Newly Licensed Registered Nurse Residency Program.
• Strong critical judgment and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

Essential Functions

1. Employs Nursing Professional Practice: Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, evaluate patients' care; administer medications and protocols appropriately.
2. Advocate: Effectively advocate for ethical and holistic care by partnering in care planning to promote autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs of patients.
3. Facilitate Learning: Foster a learning environment for patients/families, nursing, and other health team members.
4. Align Practice with Safety and Quality: Accountable for safety, identifies and corrects problems, integrates evidence and best practice into nursing care.
5. Engage in Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development; practice at the top of license within the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, and specialty standards.
6. Leader in Practice Setting & Community: Demonstrate leadership as change agents using collaborative leadership skills of advocacy, influence, and innovation.
7. Participate in planning and presentation of educational programs.

Compensation

Hourly pay range: $37.31 – $53.33 per hour.
