Job summary

Genesee Health System seeks an RN ACT Specialist (Temporary) in Flint, MI to provide intensive off-site clinical services within a 24/7 ACT program. This role requires strong collaboration with courts, hospitals, agencies, and families, with on-call duties for emergencies.

The successful candidate will have an MSN orBSN and be licensed as an RN in Michigan, with experience with adults who have severe mental illness. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, intensive off-site clinical services to Genesee Health System clients assigned to ACT Program.
• Serve as liaison with ancillary agencies, courts, hospitals, police and families; collaborate with teams.
• Perform direct interventions to clients; share information and feedback with the team; minimal supervision.
• Work in a 7-day-a-week, 24-hour coverage program with on-call emergency interventions as needed.
• Support information exchange between programs, hospitals and interested parties.

Salary Range: $29.29 To $39.65 Hourly

Status: Temporary

Work Schedule: M-F 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; 40 hours per week (opportunity to work additional hours)

Assignment Timeframe: 6 months

General Statement:

Under the direction of the ACTP Supervisor; performs responsible tasks in providing comprehensive, intensive, off‑site clinical services to Genesee Health System clients assigned to the ACT Program; responsible for significant liaison and consultation work with ancillary agencies, courts, hospitals, the police, and families, as well as direct intervention to clients assigned to the program. Will not be assigned individual clients as clients will be assigned to the team as a whole, thus, a good deal of sharing of information, feedback, and teamwork is required; this is a 7‑day‑a‑week, 24‑hour coverage program and as such, persons will be required to have “on‑call” time where they may have to perform emergency interventions in person or otherwise, at odd hours; most client contacts will be off‑site, either in clients’ home or mutually agreed upon sites; persons must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision; persons will need to facilitate the exchange of information between various programs, hospitals, and interested parties. Performs related work as required.

O ne (1) year clinical experience with adults with severe mental illness.

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing

Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in the State of Michigan.

Two (2) years clinical experience with adults with severe mental illness.

Additional Requirements:

Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and the use of a vehicle during work hours.

Essential Physical Demands:

• Vision – Position requires the ability to visually assess details at both near and far distances, as well as to perceive depth and spatial relationships with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Hearing – Position requires the ability to receive and respond to verbal communication with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Lifting, Standing, and Walking With or Without Reasonable Accommodations:
  • Position requires the ability to lift up to 35lbs on an occasional basis
  • Position requires the ability to regularly stand for extended periods of time
  • Position requires the ability to walk at a minimum of 35% up to a maximum of 65%
• Position will require the ability to occasionally stoop, bend, or reach to perform work tasks with or without reasonable accommodation
