This position can be fully remote after required training and based on business need. This position is specific for our Cardiology Service line.
This job is responsible for abstracting a large volume of clinical case records within published deadlines for continuous reporting to Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and/or The Joint Commission (TJC) in support of CHI-Franciscan Health (CHI-FH) business objectives and compliance with regulatory standards. Work involves managing the overall record retrieval process for abstracting required data; collecting numerous complex data elements from individual patient records; ensuring the integrity of the electronic data transmitted to an established national database, keeping meticulous records and presenting results to leadership. Incumbents are also accountable for producing reports addressing variances from the regulatory standards for clinical outcomes, and identifying significant data trends, outlier values or unusual data for additional review by physicians and/or management staff.
Abstracts clinical data from assigned CHI-FH hospitals/clinics for internal customers and external entities, in accordance with contractual requirements.
Associate’s degree in nursing, and three years of recent related work experience that demonstrates the attainment of the requisite job knowledge, skills and abilities. Bachelor’s degree in nursing is strongly preferred.
