Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.
Essential Functions Of The Role
- Conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, create, implement, and evaluate care plans, and adjust them to reach desired outcomes.
- Build relationships, manage discomfort, and stay professional in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
- Create care plans reflecting values to aid in resolving issues.
- Help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members, empowering them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.
- Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
- Use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
- Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, and commit to growth. Contribute to peers' development and show community service commitment.
Key Success Factors
- Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, procedures, and knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines.
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to health, disease prevention, management, medications, and side effects.
- Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with diverse parties.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.

Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accredited Program with a focus in nursing.
- RN license.
- BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of starting.
