Overview

4SE is a 10-bed unit with both tele and medical surgical patients, including cardiac and flex monitoring. Patients may have cardiac conditions, respiratory diseases, renal failure, and more. Nursing responsibilities include managing cardiac drips, tubes, lines, drains, and pre/post cardiac or surgical procedures.

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for individuals or families. Ensure high-quality care and accountability as a licensed nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and contribute to team success through role modeling and mentoring.
  • Delegate tasks based on patient needs and staff skill levels.
  • Maintain a safe environment and consider patient condition and intervention complexity.
  • Provide feedback to peers and share knowledge.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams and quality initiatives.
  • Supervise and evaluate delegated staff within scope of practice.
  • Use the nursing process to develop and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Assess patient status, notify physicians of changes, and document accordingly.

Qualifications

Minimum: Act 34, 33, 73 clearances, PA RN license or multi-state license, CPR certification.
