Nurse Supervisor

We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Supervisor to provide unit-based leadership in a dynamic healthcare environment. This role involves collaboration with various healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care while promoting safety and satisfaction.

Job Summary

The Nurse Supervisor will oversee and direct the activities of nursing and ancillary personnel using professional judgment and supervisory discretion. This role aims to deliver cost-effective care that promotes positive patient outcomes and high satisfaction levels.

Essential Functions

• Provide leadership in the development and delivery of clinical services on the unit.


• Supervise and direct unit personnel in their patient care activities, ensuring high-quality work standards.


• Initiate and coordinate individual and team conferences with health team members, patients, and families to develop and revise care plans.


• Make rounds to assess patient care needs, introduce self to patients and families, and solicit feedback on nursing services.


• Promote an environment of patient and family-centered care, paying special attention to cultural diversity and individual needs.


• Participate in patient care as needed and address care concerns throughout the continuum of care.


• Work with management to devise strategies for improving customer satisfaction for patients, families, and physicians.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent education/experience: Required


• Master’s Degree: Preferred


• Five years of technical experience: Preferred


• Demonstrated supervisory skills: Required

Licenses/Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required


• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Preferred


• Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification: Preferred


• AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS certification: Required


• AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS certification: Required
