Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Florida RN License.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications.
• Preferred: 1 year of Critical Care nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments of critically ill patients and develop individualized plans of care.
• Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, respiratory function, and other critical indicators.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies per physician orders and nursing standards of practice.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions to ensure safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
• Operate and monitor specialized critical care equipment and technology.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge planning.
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based nursing practices.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities.

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) - Critical Care is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN provides safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.

The Critical Care RN demonstrates strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to respond effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Licensure & Certifications

• Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) License.

• NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS).

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of Critical Care nursing experience.
