Job summary

Adventist Health Howard Memorial in Willits, CA seeks a Registered Nurse for the Med/Surg Acute unit. The role delivers coordinated nursing care, supervises nursing staff, and coordinates care with other disciplines using critical thinking and independent judgment. Preferred BSN and acute care experience.

Active California RN license, CPR/BLS, ACLS and PALS are required. This full-time temporary assignment shifts are 12 hours, with a focus on discharge planning and patient safety in a healing

Qualifications

  • RN licensure in the state of practice is required.
  • CPR or BLS certification is required per AH policy.
  • ACLS certification is required per AH policy.
  • PALS certification is required per AH policy.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and analyzes patient data to formulate a care plan and coordinates interventions.
  • Collaborates with patient, family, and healthcare team to provide safe, healing care.
  • Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
  • Delegates tasks appropriately to nursing staff and coordinates with interdisciplinary team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, and coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
  • Acute care facility experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Facility Specific License/Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Department Specific License/Certifications

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Essential Functions

  • Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation. Analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes. Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation.
  • Collaborates with the team of patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients/family members and team members. Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment team.
  • Participates in discharge planning in order to provide continuity of care.
  • Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
