Job summary

Comprehensive EyeCare Partners is seeking a Registered Nurse to assist in organizing and daily function of the operating room, ensuring safety and quality patient care in an ambulatory setting. The role involves coordinating with physicians, maintaining records, and prepping for procedures in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in an ambulatory surgery center or OR, ophthalmic experience is a plus, and is able to work 4x10 hour shifts or Monday-Friday mornings.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN license in the state of Nevada (per job posting) and BLS certification.
• ACLS certification obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Experience in circulating, pre-op and post-op (recovery) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintains active professional relationships with physicians and patients by assessing needs and satisfaction with facility services.
• Demonstrates nursing judgment based on nursing theory.
• Documents medical records legibly and concisely.
• Organizes equipment, instruments, medications, and supplies for cases.
• Performs perioperative nursing management and interventions.
• Prepares for surgery and follows surgeon preference cards.

Position Summary

As a Registered Nurse you will assist in the organization and daily function of the operating room in accordance with established facility policies and procedures. They also oversee patient care activities and maintain a high standard of safety for the patient and other staff members.

M-F 0600-1430 or 4 10 hour shifts weekly M-F 0600-1430

Roles and Responsibilities

• - Maintains active professional relationships with physicians and patients by assessing needs and levels of satisfaction with facility services.
• - Ability to make sound nursing judgment based on nursing theory.
• - Medical records documentation is legible, concise and accurate.
• - Ability to organize equipment, instruments, medication and supplies for cases according to patient needs and physician preference cards.
• - Working knowledge and experience in hospital or ambulatory surgical center operating room.
• - Demonstrates appropriate nursing management and intervention in the perioperative period.
• - Performs surgical prep per standard of care and surgeon preference.
• - Adheres to recommended traffic patterns.
• - Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, their family, and other external and internal clients (including fellow employees) from diverse backgrounds.
• - Uses knowledge of medical record policy and procedure.
• - Supports initiatives designed to improve individual and organizational performance.

Experience Requirements

• - 2+ years experience in an ambulatory surgery center or operating room is strongly preferred.
• - Experience with ophthalmic procedures is preferred but not required.
• - Experience as an operating room nurse is preferred but not required.
• - Familiar with computer software and the ability to learn new systems quickly (Electronic health record experience preferred).
• - Able to remain focused and organized and stand for extended periods.

Education Requirements

• - 2 or 4-year degree plus a current, unencumbered RN license in the state of Nevada.
• - Current RN license and BLS
• - ACLS certification obtained within 6 months of hire

Physical Demands

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
