Job summary

Spring Mountain Treatment Center is a 110-bed mental health facility in Las Vegas providing acute crisis stabilization for adults, teens, and children in a secure inpatient setting since 2001. We are seeking an experienced Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team.

The RN will deliver daily patient care, document assessments, maintain safety, and participate in a multidisciplinary treatment approach. A Nevada RN license and BLS are required; psychiatric experience preferred; per diem

Qualifications

  • Current Nevada RN licensure is required.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum one year of RN experience; psychiatric setting preferred.
  • BLS Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform stooping or bending.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Good leadership qualities: self-control, patience and empathy.
  • New Employee Orientation: 1 full week on day shift (8:00 am–4:30 pm).
  • Must pass background checks (criminal history, Child Abuse/Nursery, FBI fingerprint).

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate leadership in organizing patient care in an acute psychiatric setting.
  • Serve as nursing resource for staff; assist in teaching patients.
  • Act as a member of the multi‑disciplinary treatment team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

Spring Mountain Treatment Center is a 110-bed mental health facility providing acute crisis stabilization services for adults, teens, and children in a secure inpatient setting since 2001. Our individualized treatment includes a structured, therapeutic environment, intensive physician involvement and oversight, and daily group and educational programs. We provide a caring and healthy environment that gives individuals a chance to make positive changes.

We are currently seeking dynamic professionals to join our team as an experienced Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN).

The Registered Nurse (RN) is the clinical staff member who has interaction with patients on a daily basis. They present good communication and observation skills as well as the ability to accurately process and document information. The RN provides structure and safety to the milieu environment as directed by hospital and unit procedures and manages patient behavior effectively. The RN develops and maintains a therapeutic relationship throughout the healthcare continuum.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Registered Nurses (RNs) demonstrate leadership in organizing the delivery of patient care in an acute psychiatric setting for patient’s experience a wide range of psychiatric conditions
  • RNs serve as nursing resources for staff; and interact and assist in teaching patients
  • Nurses actively and constructively serve as a member of the multi‑disciplinary treatment team
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Requirements:
  • Current Nevada RN licensure
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Minimum one year of RN experience required with experience in a psychiatric setting highly preferred
  • Obtain BLS Basic Life Support certification
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Understand and honor the established hospital rules, regulations and Policy and Procedures
  • Good communication skills, i.e., reading, writing, and speaking
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Good leadership qualities which includes self-control, patience, and empathy
  • New hires are required to attend 1 full week of New Employee Orientation on day shift, normally 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday
  • Must successfully pass background check (includes criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check)
