Peraton is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer to support Federal Strategic Cyber programs in Huntsville, AL. You will lead RMF lifecycle activities for FBI IT systems and mentor a team of security professionals to deliver compliant, auditable solutions.

Responsibilities include risk assessment, security control selection and documentation, continuous monitoring, and collaboration with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a security-related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in secure design, analysis and testing of information security systems.
• Experience applying RMF and NIST guidance for authorization decisions.
• Must have 1+ of the listed certifications or an advanced degree as noted.

Responsabilités

• Lead, mentor, and supervise contractor security professionals for RMF lifecycle implementations.
• Oversee Prepare step roles, responsibilities, and risk management strategies.
• Guide system categorization efforts based on impact and compliance.
• Advise on security controls aligned with categorizations and risk appetite.
• Oversee implementation of technical, operational, and management controls.
• Plan and document security control assessments for effectiveness.
• Prepare risk management documentation for system authorization.
• Direct ongoing monitoring and continuous assessment activities.
• Serve as principal cybersecurity advisor on risk, incident response, and audit support.
