Job summary

Pine Bluff Sand and Gravel Co. seeks a Barge Mounted Excavator Operator to operate, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on a barge-mounted excavator.

Primary task is unloading and placing rock in Inland waterways, coordinating with tender and line boat crews to ensure safe operations. Eligibility includes 3+ years of heavy equipment experience, ability to work outdoors in extreme weather, and the stamina for 10–12 hour shifts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of heavy equipment operator experience (min 80,000 lb).
• Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions.
• Willing to work 10–12 hour days.
• Willing to hitch as work requires.
• Able to perform manual labor including climbing ladders, bending and stooping.
• Willing to work over water and participate in water rescue if needed.
• Must have a High School diploma or GED.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must be available for consistent duty.
• Must provide transportation to the job location.

Responsibilities

• Operate barge-mounted excavator and perform repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Unload and place rock in Inland waterways.
• Coordinate with tender boat crew and line boat crew for safe operations.
• Recognize hazards and communicate them to supervisors; participate in safety meetings and Job Safety Analyses.
