An employee fulfilling this position will report directly to the company Safety Director. This position requires the capability to provide training to the workforce, research and maintain compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations as they apply to safety.

Responsibilities

• Monitor all operations and jobsites for compliance with regulations that impact our industry. Ensure compliance with all company safety policies.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled field inspections of all operations and fleet to verify compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations that apply to our workforce.
• Acquire certifications as necessary to assume role of safety and operational employee trainer.
• Ability to pass drug test, background check and MVR that verifies that driving status conforms to standards required by insurance carrier.
• Computer literacy in MS Office, Excel and Proprietary Software Programs required.
• Travel as necessary to fulfill the duties of the position including overnight travel to support company facilities in other markets or elsewhere.
• Monitor and assure FULL compliance with Federal, State and Local Regulations that apply to our industry. In addition, ensure projects and employees adhere to company policies and practices as they pertain to the execution of assigned work, inspection, and usage of company assets.
• Conduct periodic and unscheduled facility and field inspections to assure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and industry standards. This includes completing JHA inspections, monitoring aerial and underground operations, and ensuring only trained and certified employees operate specialized equipment.
• Track and provide coaching/counseling to employees observed on DriveCam system exhibiting risky driving behaviors.
• Provide initial and refresher training to employees on company policies, industry-mandated training (Hazcom, Safe Codes, FA / CPR, etc.), and other relevant training.
• Assist Safety Director in accident investigations, insurance claims, employee retraining, policy enforcement, and corrective actions.
• Additional duties may be assigned as they relate to the core responsibilities of this position.

Physical Requirements:

• Standing: 6 to 8 hours daily
• Walking: 4 to 6 hours daily
• Climbing: 0 to 2 hours daily
• Bending/Twisting: 0 to 2 hours daily
• Pushing/Pulling: 0 to 2 hours daily
• Lifting up to 100 lbs.: Very rarely
• Lift & Carry (50-60 lbs.): Occasionally
