Overview

This position will be remote/virtual and must be based out of the Southern LA County or Orange County, California area.

ADP is hiring a Risk - Safety Consultant IV. The Risk - Safety Consultant provides loss control and workplace safety consultation and OSHA compliance guidance to clients of varying sizes and complexities. The consultant requires strong knowledge of occupational safety and health and a working knowledge of state and/or Federal OSHA regulations.

The person will evaluate client worksites to identify hazards, assess the effectiveness of hazard controls, and provide recommendations to improve hazard controls and overall workplace safety. Responsibilities include assisting clients with OSHA compliance, guidance on safety documentation needs, and helping compile documentation for an effective injury and illness protection program. The role includes onsite safety awareness training as mandated by OSHA regulations and guidance on accident investigation protocols and loss analysis. Virtual safety awareness training is also provided to increase product/service penetration and client retention.

This position is part of the client acceptance process and works directly with the Sales Team. It involves onsite risk and safety evaluations at prospective client locations and reporting results to the Client Acceptance team. It also supports the Risk Audit team by providing information needed to properly classify client employees. The role delivers Service Excellence and collaborates with other Client Service teams including Human Resources and Sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Assessment:

  • Provide onsite safety consultation services to prospective clients and clients within a defined geographic territory by conducting client interviews and onsite hazard assessment surveys to determine hazards and exposures in client operations.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the client's controls for hazards and exposures in their operations.
  • Provide clients with guidance on OSHA compliance.

Service Plans:

  • Provide guidance on applicable OSHA regulations and requirements for compliance.
  • Create written recommendations to clients that suggest controls for workplace safety hazards and exposures.
  • Assist clients with the implementation of plans.

Training:

  • Develop, modify and present safety awareness training at the client facility, including trainings required to comply with OSHA regulations.
  • May conduct live WebEx-based safety awareness training.

Prospective Client and Client Site Assessment Documentation:

  • Document results of all client interactions using eRFP or RAMS in accordance with Risk department guidelines.
  • Provide clients with a summary of onsite visit results in a written letter.
  • Customize the Risk - Safety model for individual clients and produce safety manuals.

Prospective Client Site Assessment aka Presurveys:

  • Provide timely support to PEO sales District Managers by assisting the Client Acceptance department with prospective client underwriting through presurveys.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by the Director of Loss Control or designee.
  • Interface with internal associates to assist with client issues related to Safety and Loss Prevention client services.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • 8+ years of practical loss control experience as a Loss Control Representative with an insurance carrier, other insurance-related business, or a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) or Administrative Service Offering (ASO).
  • Appropriate job experience in an industrial setting as a safety professional.

Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Risk Management, or a Related Field. Appropriate experience may be substituted for education requirements.
  • Current Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Risk Management (ARM) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) required.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity or commissions.
