The Engineering Manager will provide leadership to a diverse technical team of engineers and scientists. The manager will oversee support for GEH’s next-generation Light Water Reactor (LWR), the BWRX-300, and other next-generation reactor designs (GEN 4), as well as products, designs, and services related to servicing existing fleets & fuel. This role involves collaboration both internally and externally with a global team of partner organizations and suppliers to ensure successful delivery for GE Hitachi Nuclear.
Essential Responsibilities
The Risk & Reliability team is responsible for developing and maintaining probabilistic analyses, R&R applications, and Reliability Programs for new reactor designs.
As the Engineering Manager, You Will
- Report to the Engineering General Manager or a Sr. Engineering Manager over specific technical areas.
- Provide technical and managerial leadership for your team.
- Hire, coach, and develop the technical talent within your team.
- Establish strong working relationships with internal engineering managers, business leaders, project managers, and stakeholders.
- Interface with external partners, customers, and regulatory agencies such as the NRC on technical issues.
- Support performance and program management to ensure engineering commitments are met on time, adhering to contract requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Plan, organize, and manage technical activities supporting engineering deliverables.
- Drive the design, development, and maintenance of systems in accordance with project requirements.
- Provide guidance on system specifications and coordinate with other technical disciplines and design partners.
- Manage external resources to ensure quality, flexibility, and cost efficiency of deliverables.
- Support business development and marketing efforts to explore new opportunities.
- Protect GEH’s intellectual property rights.
- Contribute to process improvements, simplification, and cost-effective designs.
- Participate in quality reviews and corrective actions in line with GEH Nuclear Energy standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in engineering design, nuclear plant operations (e.g., SRO License, Engineering Officer of the Watch), or project leadership.
Eligibility Requirements
- Preferred location is at GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; highly qualified remote candidates within 200 miles of Wilmington will also be considered.
- Ability to access U.S. export-controlled information, contingent on obtaining necessary authorization.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

The salary range is $128K - $202K, influenced by experience and qualifications. The role offers bonuses, benefits, and other perks, with an application deadline of 5/9/25.
