The position combines client consulting, complex fraud investigations, service oversight, and cross-functional project leadership.

You will work closely with financial institution executives, operational teams, risk specialists, and internal business partners.

Success requires translating complex risk findings into practical mitigation strategies and measurable improvements.

The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and highly focused on exceptional client service and industry innovation.

This is an opportunity to influence risk strategy while helping financial institutions deliver safer, more effective experiences to their members.

Accountabilities
  • Serve as the primary strategic advisor for assigned financial institutions, understanding their fraud and risk needs and helping drive initiatives that strengthen their overall risk programs.

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with client operational teams and executives while acting as an escalation point for critical service issues and complex risk-related matters.

  • Provide consulting on fraud and risk mitigation strategies, identify operational gaps and process improvements, and recommend practical remediation opportunities.

  • Conduct root-cause analyses and complex investigations involving cross-channel fraud, suspicious activity, anomalous behavior, and other risk events; communicate findings and oversee appropriate corrective actions.

  • Coordinate risk management service tickets, inquiries, projects, and escalations to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality resolution.

  • Partner with internal teams and business units to resolve client initiatives, projects, and business-as-usual requests while incorporating appropriate risk management guidance.

  • Set and manage expectations regarding fraud mitigation systems, compliance requirements, reporting, rule implementation, and project timelines.

  • Monitor client and portfolio performance, recommend reporting solutions, and collaborate with analytics teams to develop customized reporting where appropriate.

  • Lead or participate in cross-functional projects, providing risk expertise, best-practice recommendations, and implementation oversight.

  • Maintain current knowledge of fraud, risk, financial services regulations, products, applications, and industry trends to provide relevant and proactive guidance.

  • Identify emerging risks within the scope of work, report them to appropriate stakeholders, and support ongoing risk monitoring and mitigation activities.

  • Contribute to process improvements and special initiatives while maintaining exceptional service standards and supporting the organization's broader business objectives.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • At least 5 years of experience within the financial services industry.

  • At least 4 years of professional experience in risk management and/or fraud-related functions.

  • Experience using data analytics tools, performing in-depth analysis, and translating findings into actionable recommendations.

  • Experience with fraud mitigation tools within financial services; knowledge of multiple payment processing systems and financial institution core processing platforms is preferred.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, with the ability to investigate complex inquiries, identify red flags, assess risk, and recommend effective courses of action.

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, work independently, solve complex problems, and determine the resources required to achieve successful outcomes.

  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with both operational staff and senior executives.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to collaborate across internal teams, external clients, and multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong project coordination and process documentation capabilities; formal project management experience is preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, data-mining tools, and other business software applications.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, remain flexible under pressure, and consistently deliver a high-quality client experience.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation for risk analytics coverage, compromised card events, client emergencies, and other unique situations.
