Job summary

SpeedTrader, Inc. is actively seeking a Risk Manager to monitor firm risk and client positions across multiple shifts. You will assess market, credit, and liquidity risk, enforce risk limits, and coordinate with senior management to ensure policy adherence.

You will use our risk monitor and trading platform to analyze exposures, inform clients when funds or positions need adjustment, and, if necessary, cover positions while maintaining a high level of professionalism and responsibility.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in risk management and trading in equities and options.
• Series 7 is required; Series 57 preferred or obtainable within 6 months.
• Knowledge of FINRA and SEC regulations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor risk across multiple shifts and asset classes.
• Track client and firm-wide trading exposures and margin needs.

Description

SpeedTrader is hiring Risk Manager’s to monitor firm risk and client positions for multiple shifts Monday through Friday. Monitor and manage market, credit, and liquidity risks related to the firm's client stock and options positions in margin accounts. Evaluate minute-by-minute/daily risk exposures, enforce risk limits, and collaborate with senior management and compliance team to ensure adherence to internal risk policies.

The Risk Manager will use our risk monitor program and active trading platform to monitor, analyze and take action when needed to reduce client and firm risk. This will involve contacting clients informing them that they must either cover their positions or send more funds to their account and in some circumstances, cover clients’ positions for them. In some circumstances, the Risk Manager will have to cover clients’ positions for them. Be highly professional, attentive, and quick on their feet, who can be trusted with a high level of responsibility.

Qualifications

• Successful applicants should have 3-5 years of experience in risk management and trading in equities and options.
• Series 7 required. Series 57 preferred or attainable within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Monitor risk from the hours of either:
  • Day Shift from 8am to 5pm ET
  • Morning Shift from 4am to 12pm ET
  • Night Shift from 8pm to 4am ET
• Monitor client and firm-wide trading exposures, margin requirements, and potential default risks.
• Manage firm max position sizes and margin requirements for US stocks.
• Oversee trading systems to prevent price-related errors, duplicate orders, or size-limit violations using tools like order management systems.
• Ensure all trading operations and firm practices conform to financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Analyze daily risk metrics and report key risk indicators to senior management and executives.
• Other tasks as assigned.
