Summary

The Risk Manager is responsible to organize the Company’s proactive risk management, safety and worker’s compensation programs. The employee in this position will be responsible for administering all aspects of risk management, loss prevention and training to reduce the risk and liability for Fremont Street Experience and DTZip Companies. Acts as the liaison to attorneys, insurance broker and insurance companies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a systematic focus on strategic and emerging risks that are most likely to affect the organization’s goals and successes.
  • Oversight of companywide training programs and tracking of programs.
  • Lead the risk management and loss prevention program for the organization.
  • Work with all areas of the organization to identify and monitor key risk indicators, exposure areas and emerging threats company wide.
  • Coordinating with the President and broker the purchase of all insurance programs and other risk financing vehicles, including data gathering for that process.
  • Review contracts regarding insurance requirements for the vendor approval program.
  • Document and ensure communication of key risks; recommend ways to control or reduce risk.
  • To evaluate, monitor and track reportable and non-reportable incidents in the shared centralized database for each individual as a means of assessing trends/patterns.
  • To facilitate and ensure that reportable incidents are entered and finalized into Risk Management Center database.
  • Prepare reports for Risk Management Committees, providing trend analysis to evaluate trends/patterns related to incident category, time of incidents, location of incidents, days of the week, etc.
  • Conduct and facilitate fact findings and incident investigation processes and gather risk-related data from internal or external resources.
  • Perform safety observations and produce reports or presentations that outline findings, explain risks and/or recommend changes.
  • Implement and deliver education classes for staff members and provide ongoing evaluation. Influence behavior and inspire commitment.
  • Modify and update training documentation, materials and/or policies and procedures as necessary or required in response to identified risks.
  • Responsible for new hire orientation on the following topics:
    • OSHA Library
    • Crisis Management Training for all new hires and annual trainings
    • ADA Training
  • Work flexible hours to accommodate requirements of the organization.

  • Consistently complete all work assignments as directed.

  • Demonstrates reliability in the conscientious and complete manner in which work assignments are performed.
  • Perform all duties in an independent manner, with little or no need for direct supervision.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Risk Management, Safety, Training and Property and General Liability Insurance.
  • Prefer designation in the field of Risk Management.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality both internally and externally.
  • Ability to prioritize duties and tasks and others’ daily activities to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Highly skilled in the English language for spelling, grammar and business correspondence.
  • Skill in multitasking, coordinating simultaneous activities, and prioritizing tasks and deadlines.
  • Effective communicator (good written, verbal and nonverbal skills).
  • Effective team player.
  • Skill in observing situations analytically and objectively and relaying details accurately and factually.
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely and to think clearly.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
  • Ability to conduct new hire orientation for employees on company policies, procedures and job skill techniques.
  • Ability to relate well to all levels of staff, enjoy working and interacting with people. Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Consistently communicates with empathy and positive interpersonal skills.
  • Respects the rights, privacy and property of others at all times.
  • Competent in the use of common computer applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.

  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of times.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and or move a minimum of 30 pounds.
  • Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to perform the duties of this job in outside weather conditions including but not limited to cold and extremely hot weather.
  • Mush be able to work in an environment that various noise levels from low to high depending on the event.
