Position Overview:

We have partnered with one of the Nation's largest Utilities companies who are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Risk Manager to lead and enhance their risk management framework across all facets of their energy operations. The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of progressive experience in risk management, with deep expertise in the energy sector, including but not limited to oil & gas, renewables, and power utilities.

As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact the company’s assets, operations, and strategic objectives. This role requires strong analytical acumen, industry knowledge, and a proactive approach to risk governance.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive enterprise risk management (ERM) framework tailored to the energy industry.
Oversee identification, analysis, and mitigation strategies for financial, operational, regulatory, environmental, and market risks.
Lead risk scenario planning, stress testing, and business continuity initiatives.
Advise senior leadership and the board on emerging risks, risk appetite, and mitigation strategies.
Manage and mentor a team of risk professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

15+ years of progressive experience in risk management, with at least 10 years in the energy sector.
Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
Proven experience in enterprise risk management, operational risk, and compliance within complex energy environments.
Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape in energy (FERC, NERC, EPA, etc.).
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Certifications such as CRM, FRM, CFA, or PMP are highly desirable.
