Job summary

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD in Houston, TX is seeking a Risk Management Analyst to oversee insurance claims, loss control, and safety initiatives. You will investigate incidents, analyze claims data, and coordinate with insurance carriers and third‑party partners to reduce loss frequency and severity.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least three years of claims experience, with preference for healthcare/government/nonprofit settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, safety, business or a related field.
• 3 years of experience managing general liability, auto liability, and worker’s compensation claims.
• Experience in healthcare, governmental, or nonprofit environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead claims management activities by collecting, consolidating, and analyzing data related to insurance claims and potential claims.
• Serve as primary liaison between internal departments, insurance carriers, and third party administrators.
• Monitor and report claims activity to ensure timely resolution and accurate documentation.
• Review claims and losses and recommend preventive actions to reduce recurrence.
• Analyze loss trends and risk drivers to identify patterns and mitigation opportunities.
• Coordinate with third party loss control personnel to identify exposures and loss control strategies.
• Lead or support accident investigations using root cause analysis and monitor corrective actions.
