Job summary

UNDP offers an internship focused on disaster risk reduction, risk intelligence and the application of digital and AI technologies. The intern will support research, knowledge management and communications tasks within the DRR team, contributing to risk governance and preparedness initiatives.

Fluency in English is required, with opportunities to develop partnerships, knowledge products, and learning pathways across UNDP's DRR portfolio.

Qualifications

Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme in disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, disaster management, or humanitarian affairs.
Be in the final academic year of a related undergraduate degree or recently graduated and able to start within one year of graduation.
Demonstrated ability to research, analyze and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

Support development of UNDP's Risk Intelligence Service Line and AI-enabled DRR applications.
Research trends in risk intelligence, AI, geospatial tech and data ecosystems.
Help refine service offers, document lessons learned and articulate value propositions.
Contribute to knowledge products, case studies, and policy briefs.
Assist in mapping AI-powered tools and opportunities for UNDP programming.
Aid in partnership development with technical institutions and academia.
Prepare presentations, briefing notes, donor materials and project proposals.
