Firm Risk Management
Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, model and other risks.
Background on the Position
The role will support the FRM Policy Office and US Legal Entity Risk Governance functions within the Risk Governance team, which sits in FRM's Chief Operating Office. The FRM Policy Office is responsible for the governance, oversights of FRM's policies and procedures, including setting and enforcing minimum standards for documentation and liaising with document owners across FRM and other Firm functions. US Legal Entity Risk Governance sits at the nexus of risk stripes of the Firm's U.S. swap dealer legal entities and is responsible for delivering strategic and regulatory-driven initiatives by partnering with and coordinating among risk stripes, governance, and regulatory risk functions with FRM, as well as with other Firm departments including the Business Units, Finance, Operations, Treasury and Legal & Compliance.

The ideal candidate will possess a willingness to learn about risk management, its business impact, and its role in the US legal entity regulatory regime.

Primary Responsibilities
> Maintain and enforce FRM's documentation standards
> Support FRM's documentation, including updates to policies and procedures
> Analyze US swap dealer legal entity reporting to assist in identifying key themes or trends
> Participate in regulatory meetings and internal governance forums and highlight matters impactful to US swap dealer legal entities
> Monitor for changes to regulations impacting US swap dealer legal entities
> Assist in coordinating strategic projects related to US swap dealer legal entity risk management Experience
> Bachelor's degree required
> Comfort communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, both written and verbally
> Strong attention to detail and ability to provide information in comprehensible formats, including formal business writing
> Inquisitive with a focus on information sharing and understanding the big picture
> Interested in balancing multiple projects effectively and delivering under tight deadlines
> Proficiency in MS Office and related applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
