Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a risk engineering professional to maintain a strong field presence with clients onsite or virtually, traveling as needed across the territory. You will build expertise through discipline training, apply learnings from customer surveys, and collaborate with experienced team members to drive improvements.

You will conduct risk evaluations, identify exposures and loss controls, and share findings with Underwriting to support accurate risk pricing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a science discipline.
• Three or more years of experience within the engineering or fire protection industry.
• Verbal and written communication skills to simplify complex technical information and deliver recommendations to varying audiences.
• Interpersonal and influencing skills to build credibility and encourage action.
• Organizational and time management skills to manage priorities and meet expectations.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent field presence with customers onsite or virtually (20–50%).
• Travel to customers as needed, including long-distance or multi-night trips.
• Develop expertise by studying training resources and applying learnings from surveys and feedback.
• Assist and conduct risk evaluations, identifying exposures, loss controls and improvement opportunities.
• Share findings with Underwriting to support risk pricing.
• Educate customers on risk management and influence adoption of recommended changes.
• Support training program development for field consultants by researching emerging issues and loss trends.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent field presence, spending approximately 20% - 50% of the time with customers, either onsite or virtually.
• Traveling to customers may entail long-distance, overnight travel, and/or multi-night trips depending on the needs of the business and alignment with territory and/or geography.
• Build expertise by studying discipline-specific training resources, applying learnings during customer surveys, and leveraging feedback from more experienced team members to continuously improve.
• Assist and conduct risk evaluations of Travelers customers, identifying exposures, loss controls, and opportunities for improved risk management.
• Share findings with Underwriting to support effective risk pricing.
• Leverage developing consulting skills to educate customers on how they can better manage risk and influence them to adopt recommended changes.
• Support the development of training programs for field consultants by conducting research on emerging issues and loss trends in claim data.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
