FTS is partnering with a leading organization in the commercial insurance and risk management space to hire Risk Management Consultants. This is a highly consultative, client-facing role combining risk management strategy with hands‑on safety and loss control expertise to help organizations identify exposures, reduce risk, and improve overall business resilience.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of commercial Property & Casualty insurance and the ability to translate risk assessments, loss data, and operational exposures into practical, measurable risk improvement strategies. This individual will partner closely with clients, internal stakeholders, and insurance carrier partners to assess risk, develop solutions, and drive meaningful improvements over time.
Travel & Location
We are hiring three Risk Management Consultants, with one position aligned to each of the following regions:
Candidates must reside within the region they will support. Consultants will work with clients both within their assigned region and nationally through a combination of virtual and on‑site engagement. Travel to client sites is an important component of the role and may include risk assessments, safety evaluations, training, property evaluations, and client meetings. Travel frequency will vary based on client needs, geography, and the consultant’s area of expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify exposures across client operations and a variety of industries.
- Develop customized risk improvement strategies and present actionable recommendations to client leadership.
- Provide risk insights and analysis to support commercial P&C insurance program strategy, risk financing, and coverage discussions.
- Analyze client loss trends, exposure information, and risk metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Benchmark risk profiles and help clients understand areas of opportunity within their risk management programs.
- Translate complex risk information into clear, executive-level reports and recommendations.
- Partner with client-facing teams to support both existing client relationships and prospective business opportunities.
- Track risk improvement initiatives and outcomes to demonstrate program value over time.
Loss Control & Safety Consulting
- Conduct on-site loss control surveys, safety audits, facility inspections, and risk assessments.
- Identify workplace hazards and recommend practical strategies to reduce exposures and improve safety performance.
- Provide guidance related to OSHA requirements, workers' compensation, and industry safety best practices.
- Support the development and enhancement of safety programs, policies, training initiatives, emergency action plans, and safety committees.
- Analyze workers' compensation trends and support strategies related to return-to-work programs, loss reduction, and experience modification improvement.
- Provide risk consulting across multiple industries and operational environments.
- Collaborate with insurance carrier loss control partners to leverage available resources and expertise on behalf of clients.
- Provide specialized guidance based on experience in areas such as property risk, fleet/driver safety, fire protection, natural hazards, cyber risk, or other commercial exposures.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in risk management, loss control, commercial insurance, safety consulting, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of commercial Property & Casualty insurance products, risk financing, and insurance program structures.
- Demonstrated experience conducting loss control surveys, safety audits, and risk assessments.
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards, workers' compensation regulations, and workplace safety best practices.
- Experience working across multiple clients, industries, or operational environments strongly preferred.
- Ability to analyze loss data, exposures, and risk metrics and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Strong client-facing and consultative skills, including the ability to communicate with senior and executive-level stakeholders.
- Ability to build effective relationships with clients, insurance carriers, and internal business partners.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
- Comfort leveraging technology, data, and AI-enabled tools to improve workflows, reporting, and client outcomes.
- Active Property & Casualty insurance license required.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client locations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred.
- Experience within an insurance brokerage or client-facing risk consulting environment strongly preferred.
- Professional designations such as ARM, CPCU, CSP, ALCM, or comparable risk/safety credentials are highly valued.
- Experience in industries such as manufacturing, construction, transportation, wholesale/distribution, or other complex commercial environments is a plus.
- Specialized expertise in areas such as property risk engineering, fire protection, fleet/driver safety, natural catastrophe exposures, cyber risk, or related P&C risk disciplines is also valued.
