New York Life Insurance Co. offers a Summer Internship in Compliance, Audit & Risk Management for rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The 10-week program runs June 1 to August 5, 2027, with a hybrid schedule (Mondays and Fridays remote).

Interns may be placed in New York, NY, White Plains, NY or Jersey City, NJ, based on team needs and preferences. You’ll gain hands-on experience in governance, risk management, and corporate compliance, with exposure to testing controls, risk indicators,

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a accredited 4-year university with anticipated graduation between Dec 2027 and May 2030.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Analytical and critical thinking with a solutions-oriented mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Interest in governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, or audit practices.
• Coursework or interest in business, accounting, finance, economics, political science, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Support governance and oversight functions of Corporate Audit, Risk Management, and Corporate Compliance.
• Learn how teams safeguard a Fortune 100 company through sound risk practices and regulatory adherence.
• Assist with testing internal controls, reviewing documentation, and risk reporting.
• Support policy reviews, regulatory research, and monitoring procedures.
• Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with professionals to ensure compliance and sound decision-making.
• Assist in emerging regulations research.
• Participate in learning and development activities.
