DIMENSIONS

Administrative Support: 26 Branches, 26 departments and Spectrum headquarters

Center Staff Support: 500+ staff

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent reports directly to the Risk Assurance Manager. There are no direct reports to this position.

NATURE & SCOPE
  1. 1.) Performs risk reviews and research projects in all credit union areas.
  2. 2.) Assists in audit requests and analyzes audit results and risk reviews to identify trends and patterns, risks and liabilities, and makes recommendations for improvements to mitigate risks and liabilities.
  3. 3.) Completes thorough and accurate work and performs follow-up work on the outstanding internal control issues.
  4. 4.) Monitors credit union general liability, bond, property and related insurance coverage and overall claims activity associated with these policies. Initiates and maintains insurance-related correspondence with the General Liability and Bond carrier. Participates in annual insurance reviews.
  5. 5.) Maintains accurate files for over 300 vendors to ensure compliance with NCUA guidelines.
  6. 6.) Serves as subject matter expert on policies, procedures and forms utilized in the credit union business processes. Makes recommendations for enhancements to comply with Risk Management findings.
  7. 7.) Collaborates with management to define and establish key risk indicators to effectively monitor and predict increasing risk conditions.
  8. 8.) Participates in project teams, committees and focus groups related to operational process improvement initiatives.
  9. 9.) Assists with development and update of written procedures and forms for which Risk Management serves as the subject matter expert, as necessary.
  10. 10.) Assists in the evaluation of risks and controls.
  11. 11.) With general supervision, designs and performs in-depth analysis of process controls; identifies measures, and details effectiveness of controls.
  12. 12.) Supports the credit union initiatives through risk analysis of new products, recommends risk mitigation solutions, and monitors control implementation progress and results.
  13. 13.) Creates and maintains accurate and timely consolidated reporting of significant and emerging risks, recommendations or matters requiring attention, and other risk issues to be determined.
  14. 14.) Provides operational support in the Risk Management department as needed.
  15. 15.) Performs other duties as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
  1. 1.) Work is primarily performed within a cubicle office setting. Subject to standard background noise found in an office environment.

Part-time of Full-Time position available.

Position requires onsite presence with occasional branch visits, as needed.
