Job Title: Risk and Loss Prevention Engineer III

Location: Spring, Texas

Type of Role: Contract

Main Functions

Evaluate and comment on discipline engineering work performed both internally and by contractors and subcontractors to ensure that work is being executed in accordance with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements. Facilitate effective execution of discipline engineering and design routines that align with the project’s goals, objectives, and procedures. Ensure accurate and timely communication among the Project Team and other company functions on discipline engineering activities, progress, and issues. In addition to technical ability, demonstrate sound communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Review designs for new projects and upgrade of existing facilities for compliance with company and industry safety standards.
  • Work with Project Team to coordinate timely completion of studies and assessments.
  • Support Advisor and Project Teams in coordination with EPCs for contractor‑led/facilitated assessments.
  • Develop/Review study charters, carry out reviews and prepare reports.
  • Follow up with action owners to progress Action Resolution Plan development and endorsement. Steer and progress action items to resolution.
  • As needed, facilitate Company‑led studies/assessments.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Environmental, Health and Safety experience.
  • Loss Prevention experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering within discipline or equivalent professional experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria.
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
  • Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications.
  • Offshore experience, particularly in the subsea area.
  • Experience working with ExxonMobil.
  • Able to carry out consequence modelling (using DNV PHAST).
  • Also, some domestic and international travel may be required.
