Job summary

Kafene in the United States is seeking a Risk Manager to drive healthy growth by conducting statistical analyses and developing merchant risk strategies for lease-to-own. You will work with data science, engineering, and sales to balance loss control with strong partnerships.

Responsibilities include using data sources, performing P&L analyses, designing reports, and communicating findings. A Master’s in a quantitative field and 2+ years in LTO/finance are required; proficiency in Python/SQL/R

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in statistics, OR, economics, engineering, data science, or related STEM field.
• 2+ years of work experience in LTO or financial industry.
• High proficiency in Python, SQL, and R; strong data mining and analytics skills.

Responsibilities

• Leverage multiple data sources to perform quantitative analyses and inform merchant underwriting decisions.
• Monitor and optimize underwriting policy; perform P&L analyses to scale profitability.
• Design Sigma reporting; track merchant engagement and performance across dimensions.
• Collaborate with sales and operations to deliver profitable merchant treatments.
• Investigate fraud patterns and implement preventive measures.
• Use Python/SQL/R to identify root causes and opportunities; partner with data/engineering teams.
