Job summary

Octane Lending seeks a highly analytical Credit Risk Strategy Manager to oversee underwriting strategies that align with risk appetite and portfolio profitability. You will analyze origination and loan performance data to develop optimal underwriting approaches for niche consumer products.

The ideal candidate brings 4+ years in credit analysis, strong Python/SQL/Excel skills, and the ability to communicate complex findings to senior management and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, econometrics, decision sciences, or engineering.
• Strong understanding of consumer credit and lending lifecycle.
• 4+ years of experience in performing credit analysis with data tools.
• Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and Excel.
• Ability to translate analyses into polished recommendations and communicate findings.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced data analytics and advise on underwriting strategies for loan origination and pricing.
• Collaborate with Tech, Product, Sales, and Finance to implement credit initiatives.
• Own credit policy documentation and improve processes to mitigate risk.
• Design and monitor KPIs to provide credit lifecycle insights.
• Ensure quality control and validate risk processes.
• Track credit performance with portfolio risk team and take action as needed.
• Develop business insights and present proposals to executives and partners.
