Korn Ferry has partnered with our client on their search for a Risk Analyst – Commercial Risk & Pricing.

- The company is implementing new technology platforms, such as Right Angle (ETRM software), to improve data-driven decision-making and financial analytics across the business
Role Summary:
- Title: Risk Pricing Analyst (level may vary: Associate, Analyst, or Senior Analyst)
- Reports to: Risk & Pricing Team Leadership
- Split Role: ~50% quantitative pricing configuration, ~50% daily analytical/risk support
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain forward and market curves for both physical and derivative energy products in the company trading portfolio
- Configure Exchange Traded Instruments (ETIs) and complex derivatives (e.g., float-float swaps, options) within the ETRM system (e.g., Right Angle)
- Ensure curve structures allow for proper decomposition of risk exposures; maintain related components such as pricing locations, calendars, and delivery categories
- Publish daily mark-to-market P&L and risk exposure reports for internal stakeholders
- Monitor risk positions against internal thresholds and provide commentary on pricing and portfolio movement
- Investigate pricing discrepancies, troubleshoot valuation issues, and support trade reconciliations
- Serve as backup for mark-to-market analysts, contributing to continuity and cross-functional knowledge sharing
- Partner with front-, mid-, and back-office teams (including traders, schedulers, and accounting) to support accurate and timely risk reporting
- Support ad hoc pricing research and internal initiatives focused on improving reporting and controls
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or Economics (Master’s or MBA preferred)
- 2+ years of commodity risk experience in a trading, banking, or hedge fund environment — or a Master’s degree in a relevant field in lieu of experience
- Familiarity with energy commodities pricing, risk controls, and market data sources (e.g., curve builds, price feeds)
- Proficiency in ETRM platforms (Right Angle preferred) and exposure to analytics tools such as Power BI or Alteryx
- Experience configuring complex derivative instruments, price formulas, and market curves
- Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional teamwork skills
- Background in a quantitative or technical discipline with the ability to explain financial/market concepts clearly
- Level-dependent compensation (Associate to Senior Analyst range)
