Job description

Who we are looking for

State Street offers a full-service Market, Liquidity and ESG Risk measurement solution for sophisticated institutions within the financial markets.

Reporting to the Vice President of Risk Solutions, you will use your interests/curiosity in risk management, regulations, and data analytics to build new market risk solutions. You will collaborate with other members of the client service, financial engineering, and technical support teams in helping to design the appropriate model specifications. You will leverage your experience within model development / market risk management at an asset management and/or a sell side institution to advance capabilities of the existing risk solutions. You will be directly involved in the full life cycle of model development from raw data analysis to model prototyping, documenting, testing and perform ongoing maintenance.

What you will be responsible for

With some oversight and supervision, the incumbent is responsible to:

  1. Incorporate advanced risk and financial functionality into our current capabilities within liquidity risk management
  2. Bridge the gap between theoretical research, best practices and constantly evolving industry thought around market risk management/measurement to build high quality scalable solutions
  3. Provide financial specifications and developed prototypes for the design of new risk management analytics functionality
  4. Perform research on developing risk models and analytics
  5. Identify the data requirements for these solutions and work closely with our data team to determine sources / mappings for this data
  6. Provide pre-sales and post-sales support in the form of product demonstrations, workshops, pilots and client implementation consulting

  3. Familiarity with analysing and interpreting regulatory risk requirements an asset

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  1. Strong mathematical and quantitative skills as evidenced by an advanced degree in Finance, Financial Engineering/Mathematics or equivalent
  2. Proficient programming skills in either R, Python. Some experience in SQL desirable
  3. 4 to 7 years’ experience with risk measurement/management
  4. Professional accreditations (e.g. FRM, CFA) is an asset
  5. Familiarity with financial products and data
