You will interpret data using Touchstone, TouchstoneRe, and Synergy Studio, building strong client relationships and delivering high-quality insights.

Ideal candidates have a quantitative degree and 2+ years in catastrophe modeling or actuarial support, with strong SQL/Power BI skills and experience in a consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in quantitative disciplines.
• Two+ years in catastrophe modeling or actuarial support role preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) is essential; Power BI/Power Query advantageous.
• Knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio or similar querying tools is a plus.

About The Role

Verisk is collaborating with hackajob to connect with exceptional professionals for the position of Risk Consultant or Risk Analyst within its Catastrophe and Risk Solutions (CRS) team. This role is based in Boston, MA, and is integral to supporting clients through risk modeling software and consulting services. As a key member of the Consulting and Client Service Team, you will leverage your expertise to build strong client relationships, ensuring they maximize the utility of Verisk’s catastrophe modeling workflow. The role involves engaging in a variety of client-facing projects, ranging from routine inquiries to complex, multi-month consulting engagements. Your primary responsibilities will include interpreting and analyzing data using Verisk’s proprietary software tools such as Touchstone, TouchstoneRe, and Synergy Studio. You will provide strategic recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders, helping them apply data insights to their specific business challenges. Additionally, you will lead project execution, coordinate with internal teams, and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet client expectations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree with coursework in quantitative disciplines such as mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, business, or computer science. Prior experience of two or more years in a catastrophe modeling or actuarial support role is preferred, demonstrating familiarity with risk analysis and modeling techniques. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, is essential, with additional experience in Power Query or Power BI considered advantageous. Candidates with knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio or other database management and querying tools will stand out. Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or similar platforms is also desirable. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are critical for success in this role.

Act as a liaison across the CRS vertical and other departments within Verisk, facilitating cross-team communication, sharing relevant context, and aligning efforts to optimize project outcomes. Maintain a proactive approach to understanding client needs and industry trends, contributing to the continuous improvement of Verisk’s risk modeling solutions.
