Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston seeks an education specialist focused on outpatient physician documentation and coding. You will deliver education to physicians and extenders, review documentation, and help providers meet billing compliance through CME programs.

Responsibilities include developing materials, conducting trainings across multi-specialty clinics, and serving as a subject-matter expert on ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and risk adjustment coding.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Five years of progressive outpatient physician documentation and Risk Adjustment experience.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and coding compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides documentation and coding education to physicians and their staff, virtually or in designated clinics.
• Researches and updates education materials for providers.
• Interprets changes in external regulatory environment and coding updates.
• Plans and conducts ongoing training with providers and support staff.
• Serves as subject matter expert to respond to questions from providers and office staff.
• Maintains project work list and meets deadlines.
