Job description

Join to apply for the Risk Adjustment Coder role at AnewHealth.

We are seeking a Professional Remote Medical Coder who will apply their expertise to help healthcare programs remain compliant with regulations and identify opportunities for financial success. The role involves reviewing, analyzing, and coding diagnostic and procedural information from medical records to determine payments, primarily using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding for reimbursement.

The Remote Medical Coder will:

  • Perform medical record reviews and code with high specificity, complying with CMS, HIPAA, and company policies.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of medical records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform risk adjustment data validations following AHA coding guidelines.
  • Communicate with clients and team members to add value and foster strong partnerships.
  • Stay updated on coding practices through continuous learning.

Requirements include:

  • Valid CCS, CPC, CPC-A, or CCA certification with at least one year of coding experience. RHIA is a plus.
  • At least 6 months of ICD-10-CM coding experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and adaptability to new software.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Attention to detail and quick learning ability.
  • A strong work ethic and integrity. Experience in documentation improvement, HCC, Medicare Advantage, or managed healthcare is a plus.
